My buddy Dave O'Neill posted a drawing of him and his teenage self on his blog, http://oneilldave.blogspot.com. He also issued me the challenge to do it, and I eventually took him up on it. I like how it turned out. It was definitely cringe-inducing to remember the dork I was then. But I guess it's only slightly less cringy than the dork I am now.

I actually don't think I am that skinny, now that I look at it, but I probably wasn't that fat either.

I was gonna title this one "My special spot" but I thought that might come off the wrong way. I drew this today at a spot in this park near my apartment. I used to go there to be alone and quiet when I was unhappy and it made me happy. Today I went there just to enjoy it, because I was already in a good mood. Its really pretty, and I hope I did it justice.

On a side note, I've spent weeks, maybe even months, trying to figure out what life should be about to me. I mean I guess I've thought about it for years, but lately its been an intense presence in my life. On Sunday night, for some reason, the answer felt clearer. Monday though, I think Van Morrison mighta helped me a little more. Thanks Van the Man.

I've always wanted to do something I would have to remember myself 50 years ago. The little things in my life. It might be a fucking crazy vanity project, but I am gonna try and do it for one full year.

Boba Fett isn't near as fucking cool as everyone makes him out to be. His outfits badass, sure, but he whines through Empire, and then gets CHUMPED by a blind and weak Han Solo... BY ACCIDENT! Han Solo is so bad ass he takes out bounty hunters with his eyes closed.

Jon Wheat did this one up too. I think its sweet. I want a t-shirt with this on it. Maybe it will soon be time for some Cafe Press action. Any jerk can make a Cafe Press store, but I am thinking I might actually do it, and be the only guy wearing any of my t-shirts.

Jon Wheat inked this and colored this from the last post. I got it like a little christmas present this afternoon. I got today off so I am doing some sketches, and I get this. Pretty sweet.

Also if you want to check out more of my art, you can check out more of my stuff at Photobucket. The URL is http://s94.photobucket.com/albums/l97/zombiejr/ and you can find over 30 pics there now, and you can watch it as a slideshow if you wanna.

Also thanks to Jon Wheat, I found out that I didn't have a working email up. I fixed that. Check the sidebar.

I teach a class on saturdays for cartooning. I teach the advance class tha's for people that already know how to draw and I try to get the people in my class to try and be creative and draw and create and then if they need any help drawing things I am there. This month we have been creating something called Santa Force! Santa Force is probably one of the greatest idea's ever.
The Story So Far:
Santa Clause has been ousted by his arch enemy, Captain Voodoo. Captain Voodoo is an alien who crash landed in New Orleans who has the power to create zombies using brain control slugs. His relentless attack on the North Pole has turned almost all of the elves and his reindeer into zombies. Thankfully Santa's magic has kept him from being zombified, and he has wandered for months till he found civilization, in the state of North Dakota. Using his magic he has given powers to some believers and a few mall santa's, creating SANTA FORCE!

Pictured here is Santa Claus himself, and his faithfull steed Rudolph, fresh back from the Marines, battle damaged with a more powerful laser nose.

size comparisson

Of course they overcome, saving christmas, and defeating Captain Voodoo.

SANTA FORCE II: SATAN CLAUS

Captain Voodoo has been killed and all is right with the world. But when he gets to hell, his anger and hate, and powers over Voodoo, help him to take over hell, ousting(hehe oust) Satan himself from his own kingdom. Captain Voodoo then unleashes Demons to take over the entire world, and ruin the holiday season. Since Capatin Voodoo is using Hell's strength to fuel his own powers, Satan is powerless against him. Satan, desperate, goes to the one man who ever defeated Captain Voodoo, the one called Santa Claus. Satan joins Santa Force, getting powers froms Santa's magic becoming Satan Claus....

Santa and Satan end up in an epic battle against Captain Voodoo in New Hell Casino in Las Vegas. But as a last ditch effort to defeat Captain Voodoo, Santa and Satan combine....

SANTANA: KING KAMAYA MAYA CLAUS!

Special Thanks to Mark, Anthony, Ryan, Jonathan, Josephine, Nick, and Connor. Hopefully next week I will have some more images from class including Ryans design of Captain Voodoo and some of the zombie Elves, and other members of Santa Force...

Here was my set up at Niagra, It was weird, it was a bar, not really a gallery, but I like that a lot more. It was pretty cool though. Not that many people there to ask me, "What does this represent," and mostly people just going "cool, I like it, looks fun."

Here's an obviously posed photo of me pretending to explain artwork, and my friend Kevin point at the artwork that is my nipple.

So anyways, here is the print i made to sell at the show. People really liked it, even though it was simple. I still have prints of any of the art if anyone would like to buy any. Just email me at bd7251@yahoo.com.

Tonight is the Color Our World Blackened Show and I finished this piece for it. It's gonna be available as a print, or just for viewing in a frame! (NEAT HUH?) and you can just call me Fancy Dan. I dunno what this shows gonna be like, but I am nervous, excited, and thirsty! If anyone needs the info I posted it a few days ago, so just scroll on down and check it out.

I just have to point out that the Zombie Jr logo is awesome. I love it. My friend Andy Krahnke designed it for me, and he did an awesome job. He's such a great designer, and I think the logo is pretty sweet. Thanks Andy!

Welcome to the temporary ZombieJr.com. I say temporary, because I hope to have a actual html site up eventually. I had some complications with crazyskull.com (or the registrar actually) and while I will probably try to get it back eventually, this will do for now for the home of me and Zombie Jr.

I wanted to start this as a journal as a way to keep myself motivated towards making my own comic for Zombie Jr. and also use it as a place for a creative journal, and a production journal. Mostly also to help me keep my creative juices high, and if anyone cares, they can read what I am doing and thinking.

First of all, I wanna thank some people. First, to Rob Miscovic, who was the first person to make me think Zombie Jr might be a cool character. Gabe Bridwell and Andy Krahnke, and my brother Walker Dale, for being the people I talk to about creativity in writing and drawing, and of course all the people who help inspire me to draw. Also a special shout out to my buddy Chris Staggs, who's ripping Cali a new art hole.

Anyways, I am gonna ink a new Zombie Jr piece tomorrow night. The pencils will be up tomorrow when I figure out a temporary hosting site, and the inks soon after I hope.

It's late, but there will be news tomorrow about a Ben Dale appearance in NYC this thursday Sept. 7th!

Later
